Wine is considered the safest alcoholic drink, especially the “Red wine”. Red wine is high in the healthy substance known as resveratrol. Skins of red grapes contains resveratol. But how exactly does it contribute to your health? Like everything, wine has both benefits and side effects on our health. Benefits or Side effects depends upon the pour size, sex and frequency?
Pour size is the amount of wine you are consuming. 5 Oz of wine(one glass) is considered healthy generally. Women can have one glass of wine while men can have two.

Beware, heavy drinkers are more likely to have the opposite effect, resulting in a higher risk of heart attacks, not a lower risk. Like all good things in life, moderation is key.

Normally, alcohol is the reason behind almost every cancer. But wine can work in the different way and help you. All thanks to chemicals in the seeds and skins of red grapes, people who drink red wine in moderation may be spared cancers. It may prevent colon cancer, breast cancer and prostrate cancer.
It is the grape rather than the wine that primarily provides these beneficial compounds, so eating red grapes is more healthful than drinking red wine.

Wine and grape derivatives can help protect the skin from the damaging effects of UV light from the sun. Wine and grapes contain flavonoids. It also makes your skin glow and provides the pinkish tint to you. As it contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory action, could help treat acne as well.
Wine consumption may have some health benefits, but drinking too much of any kind of alcoholic drink increases the risk of addiction, mental health problems, cardiomyopathy, hypertension, cirrhosis.
