Is Fever a sign of good health?

Fever is one of the common symptoms occurs with every illness. Everyone suffers from the fever at least once or more than that in their lifetime. It is an increase in body temperature more than its normal range, i.e., 98-100 F (36-37 C). One should not get worried when there is an increase in body temperature as it is not a disease instead of a sign that something is going inside your body. That means your body is capable of fighting illness or infection.
As microorganism like bacteria, viruses can live well at average temperature, but an increase in temperature makes harder for them to survive.
Instead, fever with the change of every season is a good sign. Since the change in season means a lot of microorganism in the environment. Hence whenever there is exposure to these organisms, it should come. Therefore, immunity gets stronger.

One should always wait before taking any medicine for fever if it is not for more than 2-3 days, the temperature is not more than 101 C or experience any seizure and with no history of frequent fever.

Most of the time it is due to infection, but other causes of fever could happen.

  • Drink enough liquid, to prevent dehydration
  • Comfortable room temperature.
  • Proper rest

In most of the seasonal fever or other, you do not require a doctor but in some conditions its urgent to visit a doctor are:

  • Frequent attacks
  • Any attack of seizure
  • Hallucinations
  • Confusion
  • Chest pain
  • Inability to walk
  • Excessive sleepiness
  • Abnormal decrease or increase in activity.
