Warning! Are You Eating Lemon More Than Required?

You will think this is a fake article, if I am going to tell you that lemon can be unhealthy for you. Like everything, lemon can have side effects on your health as well if you are consuming it too much.

There is no doubt lemon or lemon water helps in weight reduction. And sometimes, people tend to drink this more just to lose weight. Here are some side effects of having too much lemon.

1. It can lead to frequent urination.

My mother- in- law made some concentrated solution of lemon by boiling them in water. And she drunk this for a week. While having this, she always use to complain to me that she has to go to pee again and again. I asked her to stop that liquid. And the problem got better.

Lemon juice can act as a diuretic. It can increase urine output, and may make you dehydrated. Acidic fruits like lemons can also irritate the bladder. This increases the urge to urinate more often. Avoid lemon water and other acidic fruits for about a week and see if your symptoms improve. If not, consult with us or any other doctor.

2. It may cause heartburn and ulcers.

Lemon contains the citric acid in good amount. If you have lemon in excess, stomach may take it as wrong signal. Reflux of the digestive juices in the stomach can activate the inactive pepsin molecules in the esophagus and throat leading to heartburn.
